For Extra Credit: Read the excerpts of Thomas Paine's pamphlet "Common Sense" and Loyalist James Chalmers' response "Plain Truth." Write a one page paper that summarizes the two sets of arguments and concludes by answering the following: which man's ideas were more convincing and why?
